At a Glance
When it breaks, you're already hedged.
Description
What it does
Switchboard turns a business's real-world outage exposure into a hedged portfolio. You describe your business in plain language, for example "an AI support desk that depends on one LLM API", and AI does the rest:
- Analyze: maps what an outage would cost you and which dependencies are single points of failure
- Find markets: searches an XRPL EVM exchange for hedge contracts and backup services that match that exposure
- Approve: you review the proposed portfolio and approve the trade
- Outage drill: simulates a failover so you can see the backup kick in
The problem
Businesses now depend on a handful of cloud and AI providers. When one goes down, they lose money every minute. Insurance exists, but it pays you after you're already down. There's no easy way for a normal business to see its exposure and hedge it with real substitutes and failover capacity.
What makes it special
- Remediation as opposed to reimbursement. Insurance compensates you, while Switchboard builds a portfolio of contracts, substitute services, and failover capacity so you can keep running in the moment.
- Plain-language in, portfolio out. No risk modeling or derivatives knowledge needed.
- Human in the loop. AI proposes, you approve.
- Built on XRPL EVM with Mastercard AP4M agent payments for the failover flow.
Current status
The demo runs Analyze → Find markets → Approve end to end on testnet. The outage drill currently ends at a signed payment voucher; live AP4M settlement is the next integration, followed by AWS AgentCore and Ledger signing.
Built with
TypeScript, Next.js, Solidity, XRPL EVM testnet, Mastercard AP4M, QuickNode, Vercel
Technical Details
Stack: TypeScript pnpm monorepo, Solidity (Foundry), XRPL EVM testnet, Mastercard AP4M, QuickNode, Vercel.
Services: services/strategy profiles the business and builds the hedge portfolio; services/markets runs the sandbox exchange logic.
Flow (Vercel routes):
/demo/analyze: plain-language description -> exposure profile/demo/quote: matches contracts, substitutes and failover capacity/demo/execute: human-approved trade + outage drill
Failover: the drill ends in a signed Mastercard AP4M payment voucher (HTTP 402 flow). Live settlement is next.
Design choices: returns "no trade" when no listed contract fits; mock/live modes via AP4M_MODE; QuickNode RPC with public-testnet fallback, shown in the UI.
