Description

The problem A small business delivers an order and sends the invoice. Then it waits. Customers often have 30, 60, sometimes 90 days to pay, and until they do, the money the business has already earned is stuck on paper.

This is very common. QuickBooks' 2026 report found that 59% of U.S. small businesses have invoices more than 30 days overdue, with an average of $17,700 still unpaid. And 39% of owners said that a single late payment made it hard to cover payroll or bills in the past year.

The pain point The bills don't wait. Suppliers need paying, employees need paying, rent is due, and the next order needs money up front. All of that comes before the invoice is paid.

The usual options aren't great. Asking a customer to pay early is slow and awkward, and it rarely works. Going to a bank to borrow against invoices is usually more hassle than it's worth, especially for a small company.

So a business can have customers, orders and real profit on paper, and still run out of cash. Some end up turning down new work just because their money is locked in invoices they can't touch yet.

Amy's Cookies, a bakery in Brooklyn, shows how bad it can get. Its owner, Amy Berg, started the business after losing most of her sight, and at its peak it had a team of seven and about half a million dollars in yearly sales. In 2019, she told Eater that a big customer owed her nearly $71,000, and that the debt could shut her business down. She had the customers. She was waiting on the money.

What is EasyCash? EasyCash helps small businesses get paid for work they've already done. A business that has sent an invoice doesn't have to wait for its customer to pay. It can get the cash now, from investors who fund the invoice and earn a return when it's paid.

**What we do ** A business uploads an unpaid invoice to EasyCash. We check how risky it is and offer a loan against it. If the business accepts, investors fund the loan, and the business gets its cash now, instead of in two or three months.

When the customer finally pays, the loan is repaid. The investors get their money back, plus a return.

For the business, it means money to pay its team and suppliers and to say yes to the next order. For investors, it means funding real business activity and earning a return, in exchange for taking on some risk. Investors can lose money if a customer doesn't pay, so we put the risk check at the center of the process.

How we check the risk We look at three simple questions:

  • Will the customer pay?
  • Is the invoice real?
  • Can the business repay? We also stop the same invoice from being financed twice, and unusual cases go to a person for review.

What makes it special ? Every loan and repayment is on the record. Loans and repayments are recorded on the XRP Ledger using its Lending Protocol. Investors can check what happened, instead of trusting a report.

Built for invoices. We look at the three things that decide whether an invoice gets paid: the customer, the invoice, and the business. Then we quote the loan.

Open to small businesses. The usual route is a bank loan or a large financing firm. EasyCash is a marketplace where investors fund small businesses' invoices directly.

Technical Details

Built with Python and Flask for the backend, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the frontend, and REST APIs to connect them. Data is stored in Supabase.

The project builds on the lending protocol available on XRPL Devnet to help finance SMEs. Our lending engine manages three risk pools, investor balances, funding, and repayments. Dynamic interest rates adjust to investor supply and business demand within each pool’s range.

Repayments return capital to the pool and distribute interest among investors. We use XRPL Devnet to test blockchain vaults, loans, and repayments with MOCKRLUSD.

Each loan’s interest rate is locked at funding, and its terms are saved in a printable agreement.
